(St. Paul, MN)  —  Governor Tim Walz is still trying to win relief for a woman who challenged the Minnesota Board of Pardons.  The board has a rule that requires that pardon applications must be unanimously approved by the three-person panel.  Governor Walz has asked federal immigration officials to stop deportation proceedings against Amreya Shefa.  She failed to get a pardon for her 2014 manslaughter conviction for killing her husband in what she calls an act of self-defense.
