Le Sueur County Sheriff Brett Mason reports that yesterday, just before 1 p.m, the Sheriff Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call from persons that were with a group of canoers, traveling on the Minnesota River, north of Le Sueur. The Caller advised that the group of canoes encounter fast moving waters with obstacles/trees in the water, causing several canoes to tip-over, with the occupants of the canoes ending up in the water, additionally other canoers were able to make their way to a sand bar in the middle of the river

Law Enforcement and Rescue Squads responded to the River Accesses in Henderson and Le Sueur where boats were launched, the Rescue Personnel traveled along the river and found two female subjects clinging to an overturned canoe in the middle of the river and additional subjects on a sand bar in the middle of the river. Rescue Personnel were able to get the subjects into the boats and transport them back up river to the River Access in Henderson were all of the subjects were treated by Rescue Squad and Ambulance Personnel.
