A new report shows there was a record number of murders in Minnesota last year. Yesterday, the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension released their annual Uniform Crime Report, which showed an over 58-percent rise in recorded murders from 2019 to 2020. A majority of the murders were registered by police in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Overall, violent crime in the state was up more than 16-percent from 2019 to 2020. Officials say the data may be incomplete as not all law enforcement agencies report their information to the BCA.
