(St. Paul, MN) — COVID-19 infection rates remain slightly high in a few of Minnesota’s counties with fewer vaccinations against the virus. State health officials are concerned that some regions could be breeding grounds for more infectious variants of the virus that causes COVID-19. Overall, pandemic activity has reached its lowest levels in months in Minnesota. That is significant because the state had one of the nation’s highest infection rates over much of the spring.
