Governor Tim Walz has ordered that all U.S. and Minnesota flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset today in honor of paramedic Troy Boettcher. Boettcher died last week when his ambulance collided with a dump truck. He had served more than 23 years with the Meds-1 Ambulance Service in Grand Rapids, and leaves behind a wife and several children. Boettcher’s funeral will be this afternoon at 1 p.m. at the IRA Civic Center.
