Minnesota State University, Mankato’s departments of Speech, Hearing and Rehabilitation Services, and Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services are offering Rec N’ Read, an after-school literacy and recreation program for elementary-aged children, beginning Feb. 3
Rec N’ Read is designed for kids in grades K-5 who struggle with reading and writing or have disabilities. The program, which is run by expert faculty and supported by students, includes targeted recreation and literacy activities that boost reading, writing, and social skills.
Sessions run Wednesdays from 3:30-5 p.m. beginning Feb. 3 and through April 14. Sessions are offered in-person and virtually. Fees can be prorated based on a number of sessions and sliding scale rates are available.
