The city of Mankato will be under a snow emergency beginning at eight p.m. tonight. City officials say during a snow emergency there is no parking on streets so snow can be removed quickly and efficiently. Joe Grabianowski is the street superintendent in Mankato.

“Because of the holiday we are going to open up the city ramps for no cost parking,” said Grabianowski. “So if you leave town for the holidays don’t leave your car on the streets, park it off-street or park it in one of the city ramps.”

The snow emergency will be in place until eight a.m. Thursday morning. Eagle Lake is also under a snow emergency until further notice.
