450-thousand hunters will take to the woods and fields this weekend with the start of Minnesota’s shotgun deer season. Rodmen Smith is the Chief of the DNR Enforcement Division. He says the number one safety concern related to hunting isn’t what most people would assume.
“Our number one safety concern is people falling out of deer stands,” said Smith. “This year when people will have extra clothing on due to the cold weather people need to really concentrate on the task at hand.”
DNR officials say shotgun season A runs through November 24th in 100 series permit areas and through November 17th in 200 and 300 series permit areas.
