New legislation will provide medical treatment to veterans who were slipping between the cracks.
Advances in medicine now allow hundreds of soldiers to survive Tramatic Brain Injuries, but many require rehabilitative programs ranging from total care to semi-independent living support that previously was not covered.
The new legislation, first introduced by 1st District Representative Tim Walz in 2011, will ensure wounded warriors suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury receive a more comprehensive rehabilitative plan.
The bill passed the US Senate unanimously.
