If you noticed all of the cars and activity at the Kiwanis Recreation area off Highway 169 North last night, not to worry.  Area emergency responders were participating in a search and rescue training exercise.

Staff from various local emergency agencies, including Mankato Police, were training for incident command, coordination and communications, assigning search teams, developing an action plan, and conducting a line search.

The search and rescue exercise ran from 6pm to 9pm Wednesday July 25.
