The Greater Mankato Art and Sculpture walk may be about to get a new stop.  A local family is creating a privately owned Art Park, that will feature a colorful painted wall mural as well as a unique sculpture.

North Mankato resident Karen Etzell, her husband Peter, and his sisters Martha and Gretchen are creating the privately owned Art Park which will be open to the public to visit and enjoy.

The local artist they have commissioned for the Art Park is Lu Mulder who tells KTOE News that she is taking her inspiration for the project from the Minnesota River.

The North Mankato City Council awarded the Art Park project some financial help from the city's community development fund recently.

The Etzell family's Art Park is located just north of Belgrade Avenue off Cross Street behind the corner building.  They hope to have the project completed by early September.
