The hillside is scorched black on the south side of Highway 14 this morning, just east of the Minnesota River Bridge,  after a brush fire Monday evening.

Eastbound traffic was backed up onto the bridge as firetrucks and other emergency vehicles blocked the right lane in the early evening hours while fire fighters battled a wildfire that burned in several spots along the highway.
