Another Great Year for Pile It On Benefiting the ECHO Food Shelf!

The organizers of Pile It On collected 2,380 pounds of non-perishable items and a much-needed $2,490 in cash donations for the ECHO Food Shelf at the North Mankato Fun Days parade on Saturday, July 7th. There was a great turnout of parade spectators and Pile It On volunteers.

More than 40 volunteers walked in the parade collecting donations with carts, boxes and money buckets. “This is a great community; everyone from the volunteers to the spectators truly enjoy helping this great cause. We appreciate the support of all the parade spectators who donated cash and non-perishable items, their generosity to Pile It On for the ECHO Food Shelf makes this a success every year,” said Jeff Lang, organizer of the Pile It On.

The Pile It On tradition started in 1993 and over the years has collected over 60,000 pounds of non-perishable items and over $35,000 in cash donations. Local organizers include: KEYC & FOX-TV, Snell Motors, Target, and Radio Mankato stations including KTOE, KXLP, KATO, KDOG, KXAC and The FAN.
