A Waseca teen was unconscious when he was pulled from a Le Sueur County lake on the Fourth of July.

The Le Sueur County Sheriff says just after 1 p.m. Cooper Tenney, 19, of rural Waseca dove from a dock at a cabin on German Lake. The Sheriff says the water was shallow where Tenney dove in and he failed to re-surface. A short time later, bystanders were able to bring Tenney to the surface, but he was unresponsive.

Rescuers began CPR and arriving EMT responders continued trying to revive him. His vitals were restored, but Tenney was still unconscious as he was tranfered to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

At last report, Tenney was about to undergo neck surgery at St. Mary’s.
