Nobember 07, 2012 Election Recap Local Races:

Congressman Tim Walls won a fourth term, defeating Allen Quist.

GOP State Senator Julie Rosen of Fairmont was re-elected in District 23.

DFL State Representative Kathy Brynart of Mankato was rel-elected in Dist 19B.

 

 

There were some upsets on the Mankato City Council: Chris Frederick defeated incumbent Mike Laven and Jason Mattick un-seated Charlie Hurd. Tamra Rovney was also re-elected.

 

North Mankato City Council winners were incumbent Billy Steiner and newcomer Kim Spears.

 

Blue Earth County Commissioner Mark Piepho was re-elected.

 

Nicollet County Commissioner Jack Kolars defeated challenger Bill Schindle.

Commissioners Marie Drantell and James Stenson were also re-elected.

 

Several local school bond issues were approved in New Ulm and Madelia. Both Lake Crystal issues passed.
