October 22, 2012 A new city bus barn is in the works.  City officials are expected to vote tonight on a plan to create a new Mankato Transit Facility at the Public Works campus at 501 Victory Drive.  The plan calls for demolishing an annex on the north side of the existing Public Works building and constructing a new bus barn that would allow indoor bus storage, fueling and washing... and better access to the central garage for maintenance.

The project has $5,200,000 in federal and state funding... and the city will contribute $1,300,000.  Work is planned to start in September of 2013 and be completed by the end of  2014.
