The King and Queen of Sweden are coming to St. Peter today.  King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden will be at Gustavus Adolphus College to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Gustavus Adolphus College, which was founded by Swedish immigrants.

KTOE News asked the President of Gustavus Adolphus how they went about bringing the Swedish Monarchs here for the celebration.  President Jack Ohle said it was a five year process that began as soon as he took over as President of the college.

The events with the King and Queen of Sweden Friday October 5 begin at 10am, when the royal couple will meet school and city officials, then a walking procession to the chapel with the route lined by St. Peter school children, and formal ceremonies that include the dedication of the new Sesqucentennial Plaza at Gustavus Adolphus, and seminiars with their Majesties.
