If you aren’t going to go across the state in search of fall foliage… this weekend is probably the last chance to take in the local fall colors… what there are of them this year.
Scott Kudelka, DNR naturalist at Minneopa Park, says frost is expected soon and that will be the end of the colorful leaves. It will also spell the end for the Box Elder bugs that people can't help but notice crowding on buildings, doors, and windows seeking heat.
Kudelka invites everyone to the Minneopa Fall Festival Saturday evening, with a bonfire, hayride, and candle-lit walk. It starts at 5pm.
