More growth in North Mankato... stemming from a two-pronged approach to economic development by the Port Authority.   A new study is delivered about Belgrade Avenue and downtown development ideas... and news that Cemstone will build a new plant and showroom in North Mankato.

Bob Knutson, President of the Port Authority tells KTOE News that the survey by I&S Group will help lead the way toward future formation of a plan for keeping and growing downtown vitality in North Mankato.

Also yesterday, Cemstone Company announced it's choice of the North Mankato industrial park to build a new facility ready-mix plant and showroom, which Knutson says will bring 15 new, well-paying jobs to North Mankato.

Why North Mankato?  Knutson tells KTOE News that the Cemstone officials told him they chose North Mankato out of all the cities they considered because NOrth Mankato is so easy to deal with.
