The Mankato – North Mankato Metropolitan Statistical Area saw its 24th consecutive month of year-over-year job growth.
Jonathan Zierdt of Greater Mankato Growth says the Mankato area’s economic stability is no accident. Zierdt says that 80 years ago local leaders were setting up the infrastructure that has led to the area's stability and economic diversity.
While August marked the 24th consecutive month of year-over-year job growth there was a small uptick in unemployment in August, to 5.3 percent… but historically there usually is a small jump in July to August, as seen in the MN DEED chart below.
