AAA Minnesota warned us that gas prices would probably go up when Hurrican Isaac hit... and AAA was right. In Mankato today a gallon of regular unleaded is going for an average $3.84. The state average price is $3.73.
But, now, AAA Minnesota says the price will go back down again, perhaps settling in the mid $3.00 per gallon range by the end of September.
AAA points to the end of the hurricane, so oil refineries and oil platforms will begine work again this week after shutdowns last week, as well as lower prices due to the lower grade of gasoline that is sold outside of the hot summer months.
