Minnesota State University Mankato Football Coach Todd Hoffner has been arrested and is in the Blue Earth County jail pending charges related to child pornography.

Blue Earth County Sheriff's Department Captain Rich Murry tells KTOE News that a search warrant was executed this morning at Hoffner's home in Eagle Lake, Minnesota, and Hoffner was taken into custody.  Hoffner was arrested on two probable cause counts of use of a minor in sexual performance and posession of pornographic work involving minors.

Hoffner must have his first court appearance within 36 hours of arrest and Murry says it could be as early as tomorrow morning, and more information should be forthcoming in the next couple of days.

The investigation is ongoing, and Murry said this is a sad day for everyone, Hoffner was a prominent person.

Murry says Hoffner was cooperative and was taken into custody without incident.  Hoffner was placed on administrative leave by MSU without explanation last Friday.
