Mankato Police have a new tool to help them in law enforcement… two new tools. They've purchased a pair of three-wheeled electric scooters, called PMVs, that look a little like a motorized chariot. An officer stands up to ride the PMV, in the open air. They’ll be especially useful for duties that are harder to perform in a car or on foot, including crowd control at events, patrolling business districts, and silent surveillance in residential areas.
Matt Westermayer, Deputy Director of Public Safety says the Mankato Police bought two of the PMVs. You might have noticed them on the second day of the air show, Westermayer says police tested the vehicles out that day, when they first arrived.
