By |2019-09-16T06:34:07-05:00September 16th, 2019|

It used to be fun to see all the previews for new movies at the theater . . . but apparently, they're wearing out their welcome.  According to a new survey, 59% of Americans say the ideal number of trailers before the feature presentation is ONE to THREE. Another 21% would prefer four to six. 5% would like to see trailers ELIMINATED entirely. 2% would like seven to nine trailers, which is on the higher end of what most major theater chains show. Just 1% would like to see more, between 10 and 12. And another 1% of movie freaks actually [...]

Four Things You Should Know About Tonight’s Full Moon . . . on Friday the 13th

By |2019-09-13T06:24:50-05:00September 13th, 2019|

Today is Friday the 13th.  And there's also going to be a FULL MOON tonight. Here are four things you should know about it . . . 1.  It's this year's "Harvest Moon."  The full moon closest in date to the Fall Equinox is always referred to as a "Harvest Moon."  And since this year's equinox falls on September 23rd, tonight's full moon gets the title.   2.  It will also be a "micro moon."  Tonight's full moon also coincides with the point in the moon's orbit when it's farthest from Earth.  So even though it's a full moon, it'll appear [...]

“A Very Brady Renovation” Scored Big Ratings for HGTV

By |2019-09-11T07:11:11-05:00September 11th, 2019|

HGTV paid $3.5 million to buy the "Brady Bunch" house . . . and who knows how much to renovate it to make the inside look exactly like the sets from the show.  But it was worth it. The premiere of "A Very Brady Renovation" attracted 3.36 million viewers . . . the biggest HGTV audience in TWO YEARS.  That's even more than the series finale of "Fixer Upper" in 2018. When this is all over, HGTV is keeping the house, possibly for future specials or corporate events.  An exec says, quote, "We could be sitting on a gold mine.  We can't decide until the show is [...]

9/11 Anniversary: 13 Children of Fallen Firefighters Will Graduate and Become Firefighters This Month

By |2019-09-11T06:49:18-05:00September 11th, 2019|

Today we're remembering all the people we lost on 9/11.  Including the first responders who ran into those buildings, knowing they might not make it back out.  And their legacy is still with us in more ways than one . . . The newest class of New York City firefighters is set to graduate later this month.  And 13 of them are CHILDREN of firefighters who lost their lives as a result of 9/11. They're called "legacy" graduates.  And it's the most any one class has ever had. In addition to those 13, there are at least three more legacy grads [...]

What Movie Was the Biggest Bomb Ever?

By |2019-09-10T06:33:48-05:00September 10th, 2019|

The "Hollywood Reporter" set out to determine the biggest box office BOMB of ALL TIME . . . and they considered notorious over-priced movies like "Cleopatra" from 1963 and flops like "Heaven's Gate" from 1980. Ultimately, they decided it was Disney's 2012 movie "John Carter", which cost $263.7 million to make, plus at least $100 million more for marketing.  But it only earned $284 million worldwide . . . HALF what it would've needed to break even. That's worse than "Cutthroat Island" in 1995, which reportedly cost $98 million . . . and up to $115 million when domestic marketing costs are factored in.  And yet, the movie only earned [...]

Asymmetrical Jeans Have Arrived . . . Just $462-Per-Pair

By |2019-09-10T06:01:20-05:00September 10th, 2019|

Back in January, a designer created asymmetrical jeans... they had one wide leg that flared like a bell bottom, and one leg that was tight and tapered like a skinny jean. Well, we're happy to announce that they're now on sale. Neiman Marcus is carrying the asymmetrical jeans . . . and they cost $462-per-pair. They come in women's sizes, from extra small to large, and believe it or not, all sizes are still in stock.   I wonder why? https://twitter.com/JillLambert1217/status/1170134568982261762?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1170134568982261762&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wisebrother.com%2Ftcs%2Fstory%2F136188

For $1 Million…

By |2019-09-09T08:43:05-05:00September 9th, 2019|

Deadspin.com posed this question on social media:  For ONE MILLION DOLLARS, you've got to do one of the following:  Score in an NBA game, get a hit in a Major League game, or run for a first down in an NFL game. All of them are MAMMOTH long shots for an everyday person, but if you had to choose one, which is LESS IMPOSSIBLE? More than 28,000 people weighed in on Twitter, and the NBA was the runaway favorite, with 82% of the vote.  Running in the NFL was second with 10%, followed by only 8% who thought they could get a hit in the Majors. Personally, I think [...]
