Governor Tim Walz says he will *not* call a special session if lawmakers don’t finish their work by the session’s May 23rd deadline.

“Most Minnesotans don’t get to go to their job and say I’m not done I’ll just take some extra time I’ll do it when I want to.”

Walz says state finances are “as solid as possible” but with an uncertain economic climate globally, Minnesota lawmakers need to act fast. Walz says “the only thing slowing down the state’s economy” is legislators not getting their work done at the State Capitol.
