A statewide crackdown on distracted driving begins today (FRI). Mike Hanson with the Office of Traffic Safety says:

“We’ve made some good strides some positive strides in Minnesota when it comes to distracted driving as a causal factor in life-changing injuries or fatalities we still have a long ways to go.”

In Minnesota, distracted driving contributed to more than 39,000 crashes from 2017-2021 and an average of 28 deaths and 161 serious, life-changing injuries a year on the road. The extra enforcement campaign runs through April 30th.
