The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says it has forwarded its investigation into the deadly police shooting of Amir Locke to prosecutors. The 22-year-old was killed by Minneapolis police while they were carrying out a no knock warrant in an apartment he was visiting. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office will now decide with direction from state Attorney General Keith Ellison whether to press charges against officer Mark Hanneman. The two offices worked together previously when deciding on charges against former officer Derek Chauvin [[SHO-vin]] in the killing of George Floyd, and against in the case of Brooklyn Center police officer Kimberly Potter who was convicted in December of killing Daunte Wright.
