The Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota received a $5,000 grant from the Consolidated Communications Community Fund of the Mankato Area Foundation to create awareness and skill building opportunities for young learners across a range of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) content areas.
This grant allows Museum staff to share their expertise and passion for STEAM learning with the families they serve. Parents and caregivers will experience new and meaningful opportunities to explore and support learning while their children gain experience in practicing STEAM skills such as observation, cause and effect, investigation, problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, and communication.
“We’re proud to partner with the Children’s Museum and offer this innovative STEAM learning experience for young students and their families,” said Sam Gett, Corporate Communications Manager at Consolidated Communications. “For over 50 years, our Community Fund has awarded more than $6.4 million in grants to improve lives in Greater Mankato and assist local non-profit organizations.”
