Landmarks throughout the state will be lit in blue and yellow tonight (MON) to recognize World Down Syndrome Day. Sarah Curfman with the Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota says one of the goals this year is to focus on inclusion in society

“So when you see someone at your local Kowalski’s who has Down Syndrome working, you hope one day that’s not a celebration, you hope one day that’s a normal thing that we’re not writing news articles about someone with Down Syndrome getting a job.”

Participating landmarks across the state that will be illuminated include the I-35W Bridge, Target Field, Mayo Civic Center in Rochester and Sanford Center in Bemidji.
