As state lawmakers wrangle over what to do with a  projected $9.3 billion state budget surplus, Coalition for Greater Minnesota Cities (CGMC) executive director Bradley Peterson says:

“This is far above and beyond anything that we’ve ever seen, and so my thought would be that certainly there’s enough that a number of different needs and constituencies can have their needs met with the amount of money that’s available.”

Peterson says the CGMC is seeking a $90 million dollar increase in the appropriation for local government aid to help out cities with the costs that they have and to keep property taxes down.
