Sports betting would be legal in Minnesota, under legislation unveiled today (Mon) by Democratic Representative Zack Stephenson (STEVE-en-son) from Coon Rapids and Republican Pat Garofalo from Farmington. Stephenson says:
“Our bill includes both brick-and-mortar sports betting at tribal casinos, as well as statewide mobile sports betting operated by the tribes in partnership with commercial operators.”
Sports betting would *not* be allowed at Minnesota’s two horse tracks, unlike a bill introduced earlier in the state Senate. It appears the 10 tribal nations represented by the Minnesota Indian Gaming Association support the plan released today, and are monitoring the bill’s status at the legislature.
