The deadline for removing fishing shelters from the state’s lakes is quickly approaching.
Anglers in the southern two thirds of Minnesota have less than a week to take down any remaining ice houses on inland lakes. Monday March 7th is the deadline. The Minnesota DNR says all fishing shelters need to be off northern Minnesota inland lakes by Monday March 21st. Fish houses on the Iowa Minnesota border and the Iowa Wisconsin border already were required to be removed. Saturday is the deadline to remove any structures on the Minnesota border with North and South Dakota. Any structures left on lakes after the deadlines could face fines or have their shelter confiscated.
