A renewed effort to legalize sports betting in Minnesota is gaining traction with bi-partisan support at the State Capitol. But as bills are being written, it’s not clear if the measure has the support of tribal casinos. Senator Roger Chamberlain of Lino Lakes says ultimately…

“We do not need the tribes to do this, we only need the tribe because, if there’s agreements somewhere, I’m not going to politicize this, they will support some agreements and others they won’t and without that political support, then certain things don’t happen.”

The proposal would allow for mobile and online sports betting as well as at tribal casinos and both racetracks in the state.
