— An adventure film based on a video game is the top movie in North America. “Uncharted” earned just over 44-million-dollars in its first weekend in theaters in the U.S. and Canada. Coming in second is “Dog” with just over 15-million-bucks. The movie co-directed by Channing Tatum is about a war veteran and the Belgian Shepherd that helps him adjust following a traumatic brain injury. In third place is “Spider-Man — No Way Home” with just over seven-million-dollars. The latest Spidey feature has grossed 770-million-dollars domestically since its release ten weeks ago. Rounding out the Top Five are “Death on the Nile” and “Jackass Forever.”
— Lindsey Pearlman, best known for her roles in “Empire” and “General Hospital,” is dead. It came five days after the 43-year-old went missing in Los Angeles. A cause of death has not been confirmed, but on Friday morning authorities said her body was found in the Hollywood area.
— Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are trying to have another baby. Teigen announced she is going through another round of in vitro fertilization, IVF. The model has been very open about her fertility and pregnancy journey, making the most recent announcement Saturday on Instagram. She did request that her fans stop asking if she’s pregnant, adding even though it’s with good intentions she is “the opposite of pregnant.” Teigen and Legend share two children, five-year-old Luna and three-year-old Miles.
— Daniel Radcliffe appears to be settling into his upcoming role as “Weird Al.” The 32-year-old is starring in the Roku biopic “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story,” which started filming in Los Angeles earlier this month. A picture during production shows Radcliffe is almost unrecognizable with a curly hairstyle, mustache, and a short-sleeved button down. The channel announced Radcliffe would take on the role in January, with 62-year-old Al Yankovic saying “he’s thrilled” about it.
) — Queen Elizabeth is experiencing mild symptoms after testing positive for COVID-19. The palace announced the 95-year-old monarch’s diagnosis on Sunday. She recently spent time with her son, Charles, who also tested positive for the virus. Reports indicate the queen is both vaccinated and boosted and is following proper safety protocols.
— American filmmaker and actor James Gunn is getting married. The superhero movie director took to Instagram Sunday, confirming he proposed to his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Holland. The picture featured Holland sitting in a sunny spot and taking a sip out of a coffee mug while also showing off a shiny engagement ring. The couple have been together since 2015. This will be Gunn’s second marriage after splitting from “The Office” actress Jenna Fischer in 2008.
— Lindsay Lohan is throwing it back to her days with Disney. The 35-year-old shared a video to TikTok on Saturday, lip-syncing an iconic line from “The Parent Trap,” which she starred in nearly 24 years ago. Lohan played two long lost twin sisters who meet at summer camp and switch places in hopes of getting their parents back together. The childhood star mouthed along with Hallie Parker asking “You Want to know the difference between us?” Only to answer with “I have class and you don’t” as Annie James.
— Snooki from “The Jersey Shore” is taking her podcast on the road. The “Jersey Shore Family Vacation Star” launched her “Messy Besties Tour” over the weekend with best friend Joey Camasta. The pair started at the Gramercy Theater in Manhattan Friday, before heading to the Paramount on Long Island Saturday. Snooki and Joey are also supposed to take their show to Connecticut and Boston later this year.
