2021 was a tragic year on Minnesota roadways.

“There were 498 fatal crashes last year,” said Troy Christianson with the Minnesota State Patrol. “That represents a 25 percent increase over the previous year.”

Christianson says Minnesota isn’t alone when it comes to the issue

“Nationwide wide fatal crashes were up 12 percent,” said Christianson

Christianson says motorists need to focus on driving smarter and safer.
