Protests continue in the wake of last week’s Minneapolis police shooting and killing of Amir Locke. Twin Cities students staged a school walkout Tuesday. And community groups are demanding the police be held accountable. Jae Yates with the Twin Cities Coalition 4Justice4Jamar says…

“If the past two years have really taught activists in Minneapolis anything it’s that we can’t rely on anyone to just do the right thing, we have to demand and unless we demand it right now, nothing will happen.”

Yates is calling for “community control of the police” in order to prevent deaths like Amir’s.
