Students and staff returning to South Education Center today. The school and the Richfield community have been reeling since Tuesday’s deadly shooting. District 287 Superintendent Sandy Lewandowski says mental health experts will be on-site to help students in need…

“The trauma they experienced will be with them for the rest of their lives. It will take our school community time to grieve and time to heal and that’s exactly what we’ll be focused on.”

Lewandowski says the district stands ready to support students and staff as needed as “we recover from this tragedy.” One student was killed, two were injured and two others are suspects in the shooting.
