Keying off the state’s large budget surplus, the University of Minnesota is asking the legislature for 935 million dollars in bonding money and other funds.  U-of-M President Joan Gabel said at a recent Gophers game:

“We have our Chemistry Building in the Twin Cities and a Science Building in Duluth, and also the asset preservation… for maintenance of the buildings that our students enjoy, so that they get top-notch education and become the top-notch new talent that we know that we need.”

Gabel says the “U” is also requesting funding for additional scholarships, agricultural research and health care programs.
