(Hastings, MN)  —  A Minnesota police department is being reunited with a piece of its history.  Hastings Police Chief Bryan Schafer told WCCO-TV he received the badge of Officer Albert Jacobson, almost 130 years after he was killed in the line of duty.  He said Jacobson was killed in 1894 during a pursuit with a robbery suspect, marking the department’s only officer who died on the job.  Jacobson’s great-granddaughter gave the badge to Schafer after a family member found it in their attic.
