(St. Paul, MN) — Governor Tim Walz is announcing funds for a recreational cannabis authority in the state. Recreational marijuana is currently still illegal in Minnesota, the governor is also asking state lawmakers to change that. He says twenty-five-million dollars is being marked in his budget plan for a Cannabis Management Office to oversee what he calls “safe and responsible legalization of cannabis for adult use.” Governor Walz also proposed yesterday to allow expungement of some past non-violent crimes related to cannabis.
