The state unemployment rate ticked down to 3.1 percent in December, the lowest level since 2019.  DEED Commissioner Steve Grove says the good news is the state’s labor force continues to grow:

“We are bringing more people back into our workforce certainly not the rate employers need right now so that remains a major priority of ours but we are seeing growth there that is important to highlight.”

The state lost two-thousand jobs last month, but the November numbers were revised upward by five-thousand jobs.
