The Twin Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America has its first female Eagle Scout. Abbi Sandquist, the daughter of Chris and Becky Sandquist, is assigned to Troop 8. To become an Eagle Scout, members must earn at least 21 merit badges, learn various Scouts skills, provide community service and serve in leadership roles within their home troop. Council officials say her Eagle Scout project was clearing buckthorn and other conservation projects at Jack McGowan’s Farm in Mankato.
