Stay on the trails.  That’s the message for snowmobilers planning to take advantage of the fresh snow.  The DNR’s Paul Purman says the state’s 23,000 miles of trails are largely on private property:

“Every year we have some folks who decide to go off-trail and it upsets landowners. So I would just encourage riders to stay  on the trail.”

While recent snow in parts of Minnesota has many snowmobile enthusiasts excited to take their first ride of the season, most of the state’s trails are not yet groomed and ready to ride. Purman encourages you to check trail conditions before heading out.
