Former Brooklyn Center officer Kim Potter will be sentenced in February after a Hennepin County jury found her guilty late last week of manslaughter in the death of Daunte Wright. While some celebrated the verdict, former U-S Attorney for Minnesota Tom Heffelfinger says…

‘I think if you’re going to be celebrating something, you should be not celebrating a guilty verdict or even a not guilty verdict, what you should be celebrating worked, the system, meaning the criminal justice system worked.”

Heffelfinger this case also shows that juries are willing to examine the evidence and their not “afraid to find an officer guilty just because they’re an officer.”
