A line of storms is responsible for at least one death after leaving a trail of destruction in Minnesota. The National Weather Service has confirmed that the state’s first-ever December tornadoes touched down Wednesday in Freeborn and Winona counties. NWS says damage in Hartland was caused by a tornado, with the strength of the storm still being determined. Weather officials also confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down near Lewiston. Authorities say 65-year-old Keith Dickman of Rochester was killed during the line of intense, severe weather in the southern part of the state when a 40-foot tree fell on him.
