(Minneapolis, MN) — A man is facing charges following a car accident that claimed the life of a University of Minnesota pediatrician. Officials say 34-year-old Norman Toney was charged with criminal vehicular homicide and second-degree manslaughter in connection with the death of 40-year-old Daniel Schnobrich last Tuesday. According to reports, Toney was speeding and fleeing a police officer when he crashed into Schnobrich’s car. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Toney made his first appearance on Monday and is due back in court on December 29th.
