As record numbers of Minnesotans continue to rely on their local food shelves to help put food on the table, Second Harvest Heartland is gearing up for the holidays. CEO Allison O’Toole says their goal is to make sure those in need are able to have a hunger-free holiday season:
“We see grocery prices off the charts. More people are needing help filling their fridges, and this is all because of the supply chain. It’s tightening again. So when you think about it, things aren’t that much different than they were a year ago.”
O’Toole says everyone has a role to play in fighting hunger and she hopes those who are able will generously donate and help create a hunger-free holiday season.
