A Mankato man was one of the three individuals arrested in connection to an alleged attempted theft in Northeast Iowa. The Howard county sheriff’s office says 36 year old Nathaniel Thompson was charged with first-degree eluding, first-degree theft and third-degree burglary. Authorities say Thompson is one of three individuals accused of attempting to steal a trailer Thursday morning near Elma, Iowa. The sheriff’s office says that afternoon Thompson is accused of leading authorities on a chase into Chickasaw county, where he and another individual were found hiding in a cornfield. Authorities say the case remains under investigation and further charges are pending.
