The manufacturing industry is a cornerstone of the state’s economy, offering a wealth of employment opportunities. DEED Commissioner Steve Grove:

“It’s a new industry and an industry that really has great career potential. These jobs pay on average north of 70,000 dollars a year and that’s 10-percent higher than the average wage in Minnesota and there are career tracks in all of them too.”

Grove says he’s hearing from many companies around the state they continue to struggle with worker shortages.  He says these businesses could likely continue adding new jobs for some time if there are enough workers to fill them.
