Disturbing COVID numbers for Minnesota’s young people, many of whom are back in the classroom:
“We’re now seeing more than three thousand cases a week in children under 12. This represents a new and troubling high mark for the entire pandemic.”
State Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm says there’s a “quite extraordinary” crisis in pediatric hospital care: At last check, no beds available in the central region of Minnesota, two in southeast, one each in northwest and south-central, and just seven in the metro. And Malcolm says for adults, more hospitals are reporting *zero* medical/surgical beds available, and no I-C-U beds:
“And these are numbers we didn’t see even in the worst of last year’s fall surge.”
